Taurus 1911 and PT1911 difference

I just saw a Taurus PT1911 and 1911 at a gunshow. Is there a difference between the two? Are there any major differences I should know about?

PT1911s are the cheaper 1911-style versions. This means you can expect good performance for the price, but you might notice some differences in the finish, fit, and how smoothly the trigger operates compared to the premium 1911s.
