With all this heat and humidity, I feel like I'm in a constant battle against surface rust. I'm curious, what products or storage solutions have you found to help keep your firearms protected in this climate? I could use some good tips!

To help maintain my firearms safe and sound, I’ve got a GoldenRod dehumidifier inside my safe. It does a great job of keeping the humidity low and stopping any condensation from ruining things. I usually throw in a couple of rechargeable silica gel packs too just to amp up the moisture control. Each gun is wrapped up in a treated gun sock, which not only offers extra protection but also helps avoid any metal-on-metal contact.

Don’t keep them in those foam-lined cases for a long time. The foam can really soak up moisture, almost like a sponge, which isn’t nice for your gear. If you absolutely need to use a case, I’d suggest putting in a desiccant pack and checking it every month or so.

In humid climates it’s really about consistency, wipe downs, good oil and keeping the storage space dry.

A good CLP wipe-down after handling plus a dehumidifier in the safe goes a long way. I also keep a light coat of oil on anything stored long-term.

Yep I've used CLP for many years with good results. And never forget to wipe down after letting people handle your firearms. Seems some folks have almost acid like secretions that make rust form overnight. I carry a blued gun daily and don't have problems with rust , guess I'm just lucky like that.
