1911 slide issue

i have a 1911 and just put in a WC extended slide stop, but now I'm having some trouble. The slide hardly ever locks back when the mag's empty. I need someone who can help me get it fitted right so that it works as it should.

You should definitely look for a gunsmith who really knows their way around 1911s. They can make sure everything fits just right. It should be a pretty quick job if they've got the right tools and experience. Once it's all set up perfectly, that extended stop will work like a charm.

I've had a lot more luck with standard slide stops. They just feel right unless I really need that extended lever for quicker action. The extended ones can be a bit finicky in the frame and sometimes don’t engage properly especially with certain mags.
