AR heat performance

Have you noticed if the heat messes with your AR's performance? I've definitely experienced more issues during those summer range days. I’m not sure if it’s just the heat or if I need to clean it more with all this humidity.

I always use a lube that can handle the heat. And after shooting off a few mags, I make sure to give my rifle a little break to cool down.

I've come to notice that on those blistering hot days, my rifle tends to catch dirt faster and feels a bit sluggish. The heat and moisture seem to make carbon and fouling cling on more tenaciously, particularly around the bolt and gas system. I've started cleaning it more often during my summer sessions even if it's just a quick wipe and some lube between outings and it really has made a noticeable difference.

I've started making it a point to keep my bolt carrier group well-lubed, especially when I know it's gonna be hot outside. That extra layer of oil really helps everything run smoothly, even when the gun is heating up. A quick wipe and a little re-oiling between sessions have saved me from a lot of frustration. For me, it's really important not to neglect the maintenance.
