Using trail cameras can really help you get a handle on turkey behavior. Don’t forget to share how you set up your cameras and what you learn from the footage to increase your success on the next hunt.

What worked wonders for me was thinking of it as a mini scouting mission. I’d set a camera on the edge of a field, then another along a logging road or in a shady spot where I’ve seen tracks, and just let the birds tell their tale. Turkeys are way more predictable than they seem once you start watching their daily routines.

Does anyone feel these cameras are scaring away game? I’m seeing nice bucks only once on some of my cameras. Do the deer hear/see the camera? Wondering.

They see/ hear the camera but they also get used to it in my experience. I’ve seen coyotes and bobcat react to it the most.
