Anyone else feel like me. I feel like La. public land deer hunting sucks right now. I have been hunting public for 45 years and have seen the highs and lows come and go. I understand that there is a natural cycle that occurs because of a lot of factors. What I see now though is supposedly superb management and habitat with really low deer numbers on the public that I hunt. I hunt mostly Tensas/ Big Lake with some Shurburne and Tunica thrown in. Deer numbers are much lower than they were 20 years ago. I have had a camp at Tensas since 1999. I hunted Sherburne the first day it was opened to public back in the early 80's. Hunted Tunica since it opened also. I could go on and on about the differences from then and now but it would be a book.
If you hunt public please chime in.

If I had to pick a favorite decade of deer hunting it would be the 90's. The deer numbers were growing and public hunting was good.
