I'm looking to refresh my gun cleaning routine and want to know what cleaning oils people swear by. Anyone have preferences based on specific firearms or experiences? Let's share what keeps our guns in top shape!
The thread title is confusing...
You use solvent to clean with, and oil (it) after it is cleaned.
I have always used Hoppe's #9 solvent for cleaning, and Rem Oil to lube after.
That yellow straw is so useful and gives you pinpoint accuracy when you apply it.
Back when we were using lead shot, (before the plastic thingies were invented), the Hoppe's was the only thing that could that could remove the lead buildup in the barrel after you had burned thru a couple boxes of shells.
