What I figured out about split times

For the longest time I was chasing split times like they were the goal. Then it clicked for me that your split time is a symptom, not a target. Once I focused on accuracy and cutting out wasted motion, the split times dropped on their own. People who chase the numbers directly usually just get faster at missing, I advice that you let the time be a result of good technique..so the question is are you chasing the clock or chasing the skill?

It is interesting how accuracy quietly fixes everything, while the timer just sits there getting humbled too.

I used to slap the trigger, always trying to shave off time but once I stopped doing that, my splits actually got better on their own. The fastest shooters I've watched don't even look that quick until you check their times. It really comes down to smooth movements and waiting for the right moment not just trying to force it.

I started improving my splits once I stopped obsessively watching my Pact timer on every string. Paying attention to the dot movement on my Holosun taught me way more than just chasing numbers ever did.

The only explanation I have for suddenly improving is chasing skill. I stopped timing myself for a month, came back without trying and ended up faster.
