Feeling overwhelmed by ticks this season

Has anyone else been dealing with an explosion of ticks this year? I've found them on my dog and even got a bite myself. What's the best way to tackle this?

I haven't noticed any this year. In my yard some years we have a flea problem but so far no problem this year. I treat my hunting and hiking clothes with the Sawyers spray once a year and it seems to work well.

Depends on who you believe.

I've read many articles claiming that possums eat thousands of ticks per month. I've also read many articles claiming that this is a myth. Most all of the articles cite authoritative 'studies' as proof. Take your pick!

If you Google "possums eat ticks", you'll see what I mean.

I have had to deal with a lot of possums over the years. We have chickens and have lost more than a few chickens to possums. I trap them and have never noticed any ticks on a possum. Maybe there is some truth to it.

Also, this was my go-to for dogs for decades...

Vet recommended - - however, watch the labels closely - - the Adams spray for "home" looks similar, but cannot be applied on the animal.
